Christmas with The Burnham Crew

It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone once again. It seems like we were just getting all the gifts together, the tree up and stockings hung. Now the tree is packed away at the Berry house and the mantle is bare (seriously ... what will I put up there?) and Ryan and I are wondering what to do with the rest of our holiday!!
Doing Christmas a little bit early (Dec. 19-21) was a blessing. Everything went so smoothly and we all got to spend more time at Mom and Dad's than we ever do. Since The Sassers have moved away and everyone is more spread out now, it was so great to be with everyone! The cousins and guys enjoyed playing Wii most of the weekend, Sydney, MiMi and I made snacks most of the day Friday, the kids made a gingerbread house Saturday morning, we ate, opened gifts, ate some more and enjoyed the strangely warm weather and ate again! Sunday morning we all went to church at FBC and took up an entire pew!
Overall, it was just what we all wanted it to be ... a special time together full of peace (in Melanie's words). A lot has happened this year as I've mentioned before and just being together was a blessing for all of us! Traditions are great no matter where you are and that's how we'll look to next year. Things like reading the Christmas story before we open gifts, having a table full of goodies that just call your name and make your tummy hurt, sitting in the kitchen talking while usually mom is the one cooking and someone else helping, and the list goes on! It's always a great time to be with family!
I hope that everyone's time during the holidays has been just as blessed! May we all go into the next year with a sense of peace. May we all experience God's arms wrapping around us and carrying us through to the next step in the thing we call life. God has a plan for us all and as cliche as that may sound, it becomes more and more evident to me every day. Thank you for all your prayers this year! Much more excitement to come in this next year for us all! Only 9 more weeks until Baby Berry's due date! WOW!
